After three terms of service, Senator Mary Landrieu was defeated in the December runoff 56-44%. While pundits attributed her defeat to the unpopularity of President Obama in Louisiana, the seeds of her defeat were sown long before that.

In 49 other states, the 2014 midterm elections have concluded. Louisiana, however, still has runoffs for the US Senate and two Congressional races. JMC Enterprises of Louisiana recently polled two of these three runoff races.

As we inch closer to Election Day (and, in the case of Louisiana, the “kickoff” of early voting in 19 days), we see mixed messages, as several governor’s races have tightened on the GOP side, while the GOP has seen continued movement in the US Senate races.
