Decision 2014 – Louisiana Senate and Congressional polls

In 49 other states, the 2014 midterm elections have concluded. Louisiana, however, still has runoffs for the US Senate and two Congressional races. JMC Enterprises of Louisiana recently polled two of these three runoff races.

6th Congressional District race: this is a Republican district consisting of Baton Rouge, the surrounding areas, and part of Houma/Thibodaux down by the coast. Bill Cassidy vacated this seat to run for the US Senate, and former Governor Edwin Edwards (a Democrat) faces Republican Garret Graves. Despite the crowded primary field, the poll shows that Graves has consolidated the Republican vote that he didn’t get in the primary. Below is the poll release:

Senate race: Senator Mary Landrieu has always survived competitive re-election races – until now. Despite a strong effort by the Democrats, her 42% primary showing appears to be a ceiling to her support, and polling conducted since the primary has confirmed this reality. Below is the poll release:
