With six days until the election, a new Rasmussen poll has come out showing the Democrat Martha Coakley with a 49-47% lead. Since this is the second poll Rasmussen has done in a week, we have a “trend” now as follows:
- On January 4, Rasmussen polled 500 likely voters (as opposed to picking 500 random names from the Boston phone book), and that poll showed the Democrat Martha Coakley leading Republican Scott Brown 50-41%
- Two days ago, Rasmussen polled 1,000 likely voters, and that poll showed the Democrat Martha Coakley leading Republican Scott Brown 49-47%
In other words, Coakley has seen no growth in her numbers, while the undecideds are moving towards Republican Scott Brown. Furthermore, averaging the results of the four polls that have been taken since January 1 shows a Coakley lead of 50-43%. It’s now worth noting that both candidates are in agreement on one thing – the disposition of healthcare reform now depends on the outcome of the election. Stay tuned……
