Decision 2018: (Special Election) Secretary of State’s race poll
A special election is being called this fall for the Louisiana Secretary of State, as Tom Schedler (who held the office ever since Jay Dardenne was elected Lt Governor in 2010) recently resigned that position in the wake of allegations that he had sexually harassed his secretary.
This race will be on the November ballot along with Congressional and other local/legislative races (qualifying for this race is just over a month away), and JMC was engaged to poll this race. Potential and actual candidates running for Secretary of State were ballot tested (as was the approval of President Donald Trump), and there are two main takeaways from this poll (which can be viewed here): (1) President Trump remains popular in Louisiana, and (2) there were some surprises regarding candidate performance in the special election race for Secretary of State.
