INCUMBENT: Jim Morris (Republican)
DESCRIPTION: Rural and suburban House district north of Shreveport in northern Caddo and Bossier Parishes that contains a newly opened stretch of I-49 as it heads north towards the Arkansas border.
RED/BLUE RATING (using 2008, 2012, and 2014 elections): 69% Republican
JMCEL’s SUMMARY: This is a conservative district that nearly always goes Republican in statewide races (Cassidy received 71%), although a Democratic legislator represented it for two decades before Jim Morris win the seat in a 2007 special election. Rep. Morris is allowed to serve one more term.
